Spoke to a friend who works in finance and administration at UCLA and he said there is not a lot of movement on a new contract for Chip. He said he does know UCLA made an offer ‘a week or so ago’ but he does not believe Chip’s agent was happy with the offer. Chip’s buyout drops to 0 on Jan 16. He said he had heard one of the major sticking points is Chip’s unwillingness to fire Jerry Azzinaro. My contact also said the alumni base is ‘really fed up with Chip’.
