Okay, I can officially mention this on here.
Back in March, I started exploring the opportunity to return to Oregon. I emailed my boss and we began to formulate a plan. It involved a couple of moves - one by him, one by me. Well, that plan did not work out as expected due to some contract stuff with our customer.
But, earlier this month a different opportunity arose in Oregon that was unexpected. A position that would be considered a second promotion/advancement opened in Oregon. The position is in Madras.
We don't have an exact move date, but it is likely to be within the next ten days that we start heading out.
My wife and I have been discussing this for most of the year (at least since we returned from the Polynesian Bowl). We are going to keep our house here in South Carolina and use it as a vacation house until retirement time when we will spend winters down here and summers traveling around.
Part of this comes down to my mother not being able to drive and needing me closer; but we still have three children in Oregon and my wife misses being around friends/family.
This will also give me more time to focus on doing some scouting; AJ and I plan to go to games this year and do some more of that; being around again will be very beneficial.
