If EA Sports brought back their popular football game, it'd be a huge recruiting tool for the Ducks.
Oregon always showed well in this game because of their uniforms and entertaining style of play, explosive athletes.
To bring it back, it would take a new arrangement between the gaming company and the NCAA, probably something involving paying players for their image and likeness, possibly post-graduation.
I don't personally play video games, even NCAA Football, but to me this seems like a no-brainer. People like it. It's immensely popular. Athletes would benefit and it would increase interest in college football. And it promotes the Ducks. They were always one of the most popular teams, especially among young athletes who played.
Fans want it. Athletes want it. It's immensely profitable. It promotes the game of college football like nothing else. Using real names and likenesses would make it even more compelling and give student athletes proper compensation for their incredible dedication. Get it done.
It'll be interesting to see how this story develops, and it's noteworthy that an Oregon coach is actively advocating for it.
