I guess I'm a gluten for punishment....lol, but I have to comment on these two

Last week I talked about Freeman being overrated. Not that he isn't a very good back. Not that I don't love him as a person. Just the fact that he is not a great back. Obviously, the NFL guys agree. The same with Carrington, except unlike Freeman, Carrington has character issues as well.

I would think there is an excellent chance that one of the reasons that both of them came back is that when they checked their value with the NFL, both of them would be somewhere in the mid to late rounds. There is no question that neither would go in the first two rounds, and probably 3-4 for Freeman and 5-7 for Carrington.

Freeman has the NFL body, but lacks great speed, great elusiveness, and needs to over come those two problems by using that NFL body to run like his hair is on fire. He did not do that last season. Injuries, depression, whatever. He just did not do it. Should not have even started.

Carrington has the hands and ability to compete for the ball inn the air. He lacks top end speed and last season lacked concentration and didn't compete as hard as the year before. The character issues, the NFL will overlook, but only if you are a sure thing, and he is not

So, being the optimist, I have no doubt that both respect, and are excited about Taggart ,and part of the reason they are coming back is that they want to play for him. Lets not kid ourselves though. Both of these guys need to rehabilitate their NFL stock and that is most likely the main reason they are returning. They would actually be foolish to risk injury if they were top 2 round guys. They aren't.

None of this is to say I'm not excited they are coming back. Personally, I;m more excited that Freeman is coming back as I'm not a fan of Carringtons behavior. Just saying what I think here, and I'm actually going to predict good things to come. . First, my feelings about Taggart and his staff is that he will get these guys going hard again. Unlike Helfrich, he will not put up with off field crap. That, and that fact that they know they have to have great seasons to play in the NFL bode very well for the motivation for both players. I look for both to prepare better and play harder next season. If they want to play on Sundays , they need to.
