So my gal, Gail, was on a plane Wednesday returning to PDX from Maryland.
Sitting next to her was a gal from Ethiopia.
This lady was trying to get to Eugene and when they landed she was having some difficulty in figuring out how to do that.
So, Gail took her aside and spent a little time with her to make sure she got on her way to Eugene with no issues.
Gail said she was some kind of runner.
Turns out she was Letesnbet Gidey...the Bronze Medalist in the 10000 at the recent Olympics and the World Record Holder at 5000 and 10000.
VERY COOL...I guess she was really sweet and thankful.
In my own mind, I am now famous by association...even if it is a couple of times removed!
