Not wanting to deprive our other kids of a trip through the Rockies, my wife and I decided to drive with Rocky from the Houston area to Eugene. His reporting date is July 30, so we want to arrive on the 27th. It is a caravan that includes five humans, and two canines.
Looks like we found a good place on VRBO, but wanted to know any other insight into places to stay, eat, do while in Eugene and Oregon. We are coming through Bend, and I'm looking forward to hitting the Deschutes Brewery - the brewer of one of my favorites, Mirror Pond Pale Ale. Is it worth spending half a day there on the river? We want to hit the coast, too. Not sure how long we are staying, that depends on whether we can watch Rocky practice.
