1. Hire Cristobal and hold on to 2/3 to 3/4 of the staff (as many as possible-only guys who seem to have gone twitter silent are Pimpleton and Big Joe).
2. This should mean we can hold on to, at least, a similar percentage of the previous 25 commits, while adding from the list they are already working on. Including a large number on 12/20 to relieve some of the anxiety.
3. Cristobal leaves in 3 years for a dream job close to his childhood home after we have won a natty, or, at least, been in the playoffs and are consistently back in that conversation.
4. We have a head coach in waiting in place (Arroyo for example) and smoothly transition with most of the staff remaining.

Notice how this scenario returns us to the model we followed for so many years. The key is making the correct choice with each 'within' hire and restocking the assistants with great recruiting up and comers. This would prevent us from blowing the whole thing up every time. My biggest issue with the 'stepping stone' deal is which step are we, one of the last steps or an early step? BTW heard on college football live D. Howard and the Georgia guy (younger, short hair) rip Willie and say Oregon is the second best job in the league after USC. One even called us a destination!
