The difference between an early first round draft pick and a second to third rounder is about $30 million.

NFL scouts will be watching closely today to see how Herbert responds to a physical defense that can bring pressure in a big game.

In an article for The Athletic this week Dane Brugler wrote, "Against Stanford, NFL scouts want to see Herbert’s continued improvement reading defenses and locating coverage landmarks to make the best decisions." .

My story today offers a preview of the Stanford matchup. It isn't any secret that the Ducks need a big game from Herbert to win. In fact, it's the best chance he's had yet for a signature win, something he really hasn't achieved yet.

People forget how young a quarterback Justin really is. He missed most of his junior year of high school with a leg injury. He was limited to eight games as sophomore, missing five with a broken collarbone. He didn't get his first start as a freshman until game six. In all he's played in 19 college games while starting in 18. He's not even old enough to drink at 20 years, six months (born March 10, 1998.)
