I understand to an extent not letting the whole world know what's going on but man....what is up with Royce? And where was Benoit? Did I miss something injury wise there?
Royce has basically zero burst and just does not look like himself in any fashion out there. The rumor mentioned last night that he may be one of the guys not giving 100% is dis heartening to even think about but watching him surely makes you wonder (still hard to believe). I would have to guess his leg is far from 100% explaining what we are seeing. So...that basically left James and Griffin leaving us with zero size...that being said I love me some James! If that is what we have going forward please game plan accordingly. 30-40 running plays between the tackles just doesn't sound real logical.
I loved the 2nd half effort....some emotion and even a few creative play calls (2 normal screens, TE over the middle at 10 - 12 yards) and guess what they worked. Is it a coincidence that a few new faces replaced a couple normal guys and we gained said emotion and effort?? A couple of the new guys looked pretty good (Baker and Apelu come to mind)
And of course...I am excited for the future of Herbert. He is going to be a very good one and I felt bad for him on that last play as he did have a TD with a good throw. It was encouraging seeing the team supporting him afterwards.
I will leave coaching changes to another day as that conversation has been beat to death but still believe Helfrich will be gone if we don't win any more games or even one or two.
Hard to believe we are at this point after being in the natty two years ago but we are so dealing with it properly is key moving forward. I say that mostly team wise but it is something us fans need to adjust to also. Some of us are struggling to say the least....LOL.
