RECRUITING NOTES
All for now!
- This is not going to be a big recruiting weekend. Once again you can expect all of the local players to find a way to the game – especially commits that live close enough to catch the game in person.
- It looks like a couple of other commits will also be in town this weekend. Why not the bigger game next week? Often this just relates to their bye weeks back home and that is the case here. Xadavien Sims and Shaq McCroy are expected to be in town this weekend to catch the Cal game. These two are cornerstone types and you know that everyone is trying to come after them, but they are very solid. Still important to get them in town and have them remember what they love about Oregon.
- Most of the other names will be from the 2025 class and beyond. Alabaster (AL) four-star safety Anquon Fegans is expected to be in town. The No. 34 overall player in the class of 2025 was once committeed to USC, but co-DC Chris Hampton has done a great job getting a relationship built and this is one of those types of players that you want in the defensive backfield.
He will be a tough pull from the SEC, but the move to the B1G could prove critical if Oregon finds a way to land him.
- Another elite prospect – five star 2025 wide receiver Dakorien Moore – is set to visit Eugene this weekend. The Duncanville (TX) prospect is currently committed to LSU, but there is a long way to signing day for 2025 and the Ducks are going to be in the thick of things should Moore reopen his recruitment. This will not be the only school he visits. Rated as the No. 6 overall player in the nation, Moore is on top of most schools wish list so this will be one of those players that is very difficult to land.
This visit, though, gives him a chance to see Oregon in person and to meet with one of the better receiver developers in the nation and watch him in action – as well as one of his star pupils Troy Franklin.
- Interior offensive lineman Connor Carty is also set to be in town. The Prosper (TX) four-star is a big interior body that has great versatility. At 6-5, 290, he already has good size and will be spending time around some of the best interior offensive linemen in the nation this week.
He has an offer from Stanford, Texas A&M, and Texas Tech. He is one of those players that is going to get a lot more offers in the next six months. Definitely someone on whom to keep an eye moving forward.
