Ducks have a very strong chance of reversing this curse this year. For one, the game is in Autzen, and two, Andy Avalos did a good of defensing the Cougs while at Boise State.
The Broncos had them 31-10 in the 4th quarter before their quarterback tossed a Pick Six and a punt return blocker got hit by a short kick. Wound up losing in triple overtime.
Avalos does a great job of mixing pressures, coverages and fronts. The Ducks have the athletes and versatility to show a 4-2-5 in one situation and play 3-3-5 in another.
Leach has always relished beating the haves. At Texas Tech he savored showdowns with big donor schools like Texas A&M and Texas. Since coming to WSU, Oregon has been a special target for him. He's won the last four in a row.
