I caught up with Coach Chinander for an update on Eddie Heard who is coming out of his RS year.
"Eddie is a completely different player than he was last fall. Last fall he was coming out of junior college, thrown into the deep end just trying to tread water. Now he understands what we want from him, he understands how to practice. I think he has done a fabulous job."
"Will he be on the field a lot this year? Don’t know yet. Hopefully he will help us in special teams. Hopefully we can get some reps. But he’s a guy we will continue to bring along because people don’t understand that he only played one year of junior college. He’s got three years left with us. So I’m looking for big things from him."
"The only football he had played was at quarterback. So the good news is he understands concepts and he kind of understands where he should be. Now he understands our defense and the way we do things."
