Oregon took one of the most talented teams in the SEC down to the wire. Of corse, I wanted for the Ducks to win, but I didn’t expect it. The country saw an Oregon team that put on a great show against another talented team. I think that Oregon represented themselves well.
I believe that Auburn is the better football team, but the Ducks got on them early and if not for some unforced errors would have mounted a lead too big for Auburn to catch them. They didn’t embarrass themselves. They almost won.
It is too early to know what this game tells us. It was expected that this would probably be the toughest game on the schedule. This team could even end up in the Rose Bowl. Based upon today’s performance, I feel optimistic that this team could win a lot of games this season.... but as I pointed out, it is still too early to tell.
