Philippa Bowden has transferred from Brunel University in London to Oregon and was added to the team roster today. She will be a redshirt senior and the top runner on the women’s cross country team. I am uncertain of her eligibility status for track. With the recent exodus of top talent transferring from Oregon... and the loss of the coaches...this is most welcome news.
Oregon’s new women’s distance/cross country coach, Helen-Lehman Winters, was very successful at U of San Francisco in recruiting top talent from Europe. Mallard Green has been predicting for weeks that, although UO is losing talent, the new coach would be striking gold with replacements coming from abroad... as well as top American recruits. MG looks to be on Track
with his prediction.
