Some more great information from Coach Lubick leading into game one. Here are some excerpts:

On having a seven-deep rotation

I’m just throwing out that number. Sometimes I don’t even know. It could be eight, it could be six. We always talk about that we want to have the ability to play a lot of guys to keep them fresh but by the same point, we don’t want to have a drop off in talent level. So if there is a big drop between four and five, well, five is not going to play that much. But if they are all kind of equal, it makes everybody else better. So as a coach it makes it a good situation for me because I’ve got seven guys, or eight, playing at a high level.

And when he gets Devon Allen and Darren Carrington back?

Well, we’ll cross that bridge when it comes, but it’s a fun problem to have. The thing is getting all those guys on the field. I don’t think we can run a seven wideout package. Maybe we can talk to Coach Frost and take out some offensive linemen.

On Charles Nelson

It’s pretty rare when you see a receiver be your best player on special teams.

On Devon Allen

He is working hard and I would say he is ahead of schedule.
