One name I am told to keep a close eye on for defensive coordinator is Scott Shafer. He is not the 'sexy' name people will want to hear, but he was the defensive coordinator at Stanford in 2007, went to Michigan in 2008 then we at Syracuse from 2009-2015
He spent some time as their HC, but is considered a top notch defensive coordinator. He has the Harbaugh ties and Taggart knows him from Stanford. One source told me: "I think he will hire Scott Shafer former Cuse HC/Stanford DC"
