From Abe Lucas, WSU DE about Thibs:
"A really raw player. A lot of potential, a lot of upside, he uses his length well. He looks like an NFL D-end now. Very quick off the ball, carries his weight well.”
So, my question is this: why is he talking about Thib's "potential" in the Pros? (and it's not just Lucas saying this.)
Thibs was here for 3 years and he supposedly had one of the best D-Line coaches in the country teaching him.
So why did he not reach his "full potential" while he was here?
At the very least, why is he still "raw?"
You read this often about players from all positions. The Pros think that they can school up a player that maybe didn't have the best coaching in college.
But what about Big Joe? Did he fail to get Thibs past the "raw" stage? I thought that Joe was all of that and more.
I figure the Pros have the best coaches, but when you get guys like Tosh going back and forth from college to the NFL, it would seem like that would even out the quality a little.
So, what gives?
