Tacking onto Scott's comment about this being a lost season, I've been thinking about the athletes and their eligibility.
To wit...you get a kid that comes into the season thinking he's gonna play at least 7 games (PAC-12). Now, with the virus, he might play only 6 games...or 5 or who knows how many.
So, the athlete gets to play in 5 games, let's say, and he losses a whole season of eligibility.
Doesn't quite seem fair. Now, I realize that there is nothing fair about covid and that we are in unchartered waters.
However, it sure seems like there should be a way for these kids to "Covid Redshirt" or something.
No doubt that would screw up recruiting classes and whatnot, and other conferences who played a fuller slate would complain, but I feel for these kids who work their tails off only to see their season evaporate.
I wish I had an answer and not just an observation.
Additionally, I totally agree with Scott about this season.....while I want the Ducks to dominate, I'm looking at this year as a springboard for next year when we can...hopefully...have a real season.
Go Ducks!
