No one gave the Gophers a chance against the air raid Cougs. All it took was defense.
Minnesota gave a primer on tackling and pass rushing to anyone who thought that kind of D was passe'. Same with a Wake Forest team that was given no chance after Wakieleaks, against Temple.
What was so impressive was the scheming and execution....the game planning that went into neutralizing of potent offenses and winning out on defense.
I don't know if anyone here watched either game, but it exposes the fallacy of unstoppable offenses and the excuse and free passes given to generous defenses because the offense "scores too fast."
The take out from this is just what Willie Taggart preaches..."no excuses." And he knows we'll hold him to that same standard.
Damn, it was fun watching hard nosed defense here in Duck Nation...like when Marco Polo brought pasta to Italy....from China.
