A source close to Devin Asiasi told TrojanSports.com months ago that USC's chances to sign the four-star prospect were severely hurt by a flood of tight ends added to the roster.

But we've learned the 6-foot-5, 253-pound product of Concord De La Salle is still considering the Trojans. In fact, his father says USC is among Asiasi's top schools.

"I think he's cut it down to three or four," Dave Asiasi said. "I think it's Alabama, UCLA, USC and Oregon." The 2016 target plans to officially visit each of those schools. This weekend, he's going to Alabama. An official visit to USC will likely come next month. Asiasi has remained a priority for the Trojans despite the recent influx of players at his position.

"I know Coach Tui (Marques Tuiasosospo) still talks to him a lot," Asiasi's father said. "I don't know what he's saying to him but I do know Devin is not really listening to anybody that's talking to him about defense. So if anybody is talking to him about defense, he's not even listening. If he even gets the feeling the person wants him on defense, they slide down on the totem pole. The people that are in the running right now are the people that told him they want him at tight end, and how they want him to do it. They've given him the plan, they've given him what he wants to do. It just comes down to his decision."

Asiasi's isn't expected to announce his decision until the Army All-American game or, perhaps, Signing Day.

"I don't want him to be one of those guys that picks a school and then two days later because he doesn't feel like he's getting playing time, that he's going to transfer," Asiasi said. "That's not the type of kid he is, not the type of kid I raised. He's going to go for the right things and then it's going to play out wherever he's going to be."
