I just got confirmation from QB Vernon Adams that he will be announcing on Monday his decision whether to transfer from Eastern Washington to Oregon.
Lots of rumors out there and overall those and the signs are generally positive that he will make the switch. It was pretty clear following his visit to Eugene last weekend that Helfrich and company did not tell him he would be handed the job. Nor should he be. He would have to beat out some promising youth and a veteran with some seasoning, all of whom will have been in the system longer than him.
One thing Adams has been clear about is that he does not want to transfer and not play, something that makes sense for somebody highly decorated at his current level - with one year of college eligibility left.
Despite the potential impact he could make given the high profile opening at Oregon, his decision reveal will not likely be at a big media affair. I asked him where his announcement would take place.
"Probably at my house," Adams replied.
I'll keep you posted with anything more I find out about this.
