Good evening all,
I want to first apologize for less than normal board activity on my part. Work got especially crazy over the last couple of weeks and throw in that this is near the end of the term for my MBA classes and it has been very busy in the Reed household!
I know that there was a lot of positive response to the article on the football support of the rest of the athletic department and I thank you all. I am very fortunate in that - despite the reality of a full time day job - that the connections made are solid.
I am working on some things right now that will go to another level. I have to be somewhat discreet because it involves my day job and some ideas we have been working on to bring you even more information.
I love doing things like the 'Inside Read' as a weekly 'tidbit' of information and, if you read between the lines on the Monday Inside Read, Wednesday War Room and Flock Talk, you will get a bigger picture. Though I cannot be overly specific, I will say that sometime this summer, there is a very strong chance that I will be closer to the action, so to speak, and able to provide far more 'stuff.'
My goal has always been to bring as much solid writing and information as possible and that will always be my goal personally. But we must never allow ourselves too many moments of arm-breaking, self-congratulatory revelry. It's not about me, it's about YOU our readers.
I have always, always, ALWAYS, appreciated the members of this site; you (for the most part) keep it civil, avoid the sophomoric humor; keep it (mostly) about Oregon sports and hold us to a high standard of professionalism.
When I was 'just another member' we had plenty of live discussions; I think those were all very healthy and I appreciate every one of those moments.
I remember our old time Sunday night chats - which we nicknamed "Margaritaville Sundays" mostly due to the fact that my wife was watching Extreme Home Makeover while we enjoyed Margarita's and I spent that hour on chat!
Anyway, as soon as I have more details to provide, I will share it with you, but that might not be until sometime in early June before I know all of the specifics. In the mean time, I am taking some immediate steps to provide even more content. Hopefully, the fruits of those labors will bear starting next week!
