So, many people know that the Ducks did not do an extensive external coaching search last off-season. One name who we told you then interviewed was none other than - Kevin Sumlin.

I talked to a lot of people back then about him; and talked to more about him after the game this weekend. Let me just say he really, really, really (is that enough 'really's'?) wanted the Oregon job. Watch how the Wildcats finish down the stretch and see whether this game was a launching pad or the culmination of a one game season for them...

Someone said in another post how the teams of the 70's and 80's seemed to play opponents tougher; that is true, but it is much more difficult to be the hunted than the hunter. Even though Oregon has not been "elite" for about 4 seasons, the brand still gets the attention (and ire) of many coaches and fan bases. They care about beating Oregon...

Despite the more difficult life of being the hunted, it is a much better position to be in...
