In 1969 the Ducks went 5-5-1 under head coach Jerry Frei.

They beat Washington 22-7, lost to Oregon State 10-7.

The offense cranked out an explosive 24.6 points per game. The defense allowed 22.2.

Star of the '69 squad was Bobby Moore (then, now Ahmad Rashad) who rushed for 5 touchdowns, had 10 more as a receiver. Tom Blanchard completed 57.6% of his passes for 1488 yards and 12 TDs. 2nd team quarterback John Harrington (Joey's dad) threw for another 749 yards, 4 TDs, 6 picks.
