Five-star Junior point guard Jamal Murray could be a program-altering recruit, whether in the class of 2015 or if he stays in 2016.

The Mono (Ontario) Orangeville Prep standout officially visited Kentucky last week and has also been strongly linked to Oregon. The Rivals.com No. 15 overall player in the class of 2016, he was able to showcase his impressive skills in three game at the HIghSchoolOT.com Holiday Invitational on Dec. 26-30, 2014, at Raleigh (N.C.) The 6-foot-3, 180-pound Murray had an impressive start in his first game against Lynchburg (Va.) Virginia Episcopal on Dec. 27, with 16 points in a 67-63 win. Murray went 4 of 10 from the field, 1 of 4 on three-pointers and 7 of 8 at the free-throw line. He added five rebounds, four assists, two steals and recorded three turnovers in the win.

Murray and Orangeville Prep fell 78-75 to High Point (N.C.) Wesleyan in a spirited title game Dec. 30. Murray went down fighting and had 19 points, four rebounds, six assists, one steal and recorded two turnovers. He went 5 of 18 from the field, including 0 of 4 on three-pointers, and he drained 9 of 11 at the free-throw line.

Murray also had a showdown against No. 4-ranked junior point guard Dennis Smith Jr. in the semifinals Dec. 29. Murray had seven points, five rebounds, five assists and three steals in a 79-75 win over Fayetteville (N.C.) Trinity Christian.
