Donte Williams

Just got off the phone with a third source and all have told me pretty much the same thing; that Donte Williams is set to join the Ducks - will work with LB's under Leavitt. Is a fantastic recruiter who will be able to bring in a ton of talent. Still young as a coach and needs to get better with his on field work, but will be a super strong addition to the staff.

Want to know why Lenoir and several other elite California prospects considered Nebraska last year? As they put it 'Simple, Coach W'

My story of the day

Alright, so some of you guys may know I live down here in North Alabama. About 20 minutes south of Huntsville. For the last 3 years I have worked at FedEx ground during the Fall Holidays while our school has its christmas break.

This is the last week of that holiday break, but there is a woman that works began this season about the same time as I did, and never really talked to her. She always wears 3-4 different team sweatshirts to work: USC, Colorado, Washington St, and Washington Redskins.

So, this morning, I decided to bait her and wear my Oregon sweatshirt. It works. She comes up before we begin processing and says, "why Oregon?"
I told her I had family in Oregon, dad is an Oregon alum.
She responds, "Oh, my cousin is a coach there."

Ok, so in my head, im laughing hard at her but after a pause she says, they call him "Big Joe"
Alright, blind luck? I say "yea I follow Oregon big time. So your cousin is Joe Salave'a?"
She responds, "yea my mom is his dads sister. Havent talked to him or Joes brother Oakland is some time, they spend a lot of time in American Samoa, where his brother coaches."

Needless to say I was stunned and wanted to discuss more, but the horn sounded for us to go to work. Was a very wild and shocking meeting at 3 am. Felt the need to share with you guys.

David Kelly

I was very disappointed when it was reported on several of the Duck Boards that while David Kelly has been on Oregon's payroll, all the while he has been recruiting for FSU. He was shown at the FSU Bowl yukking it up with Taggart recently.. If this is true Mullens and Knight have been getting played like a fiddle. If true he is a slime ball worse than Taggart.People laugh when I talk about criminal violations but this is out and out fraud and if I were Knight I would take Kelly to the cleaners. Taggart also as this smells to me like criminal conspiracy. I am beginning to have my doubts about Mullens competence.

Don't Get TOO Excited

I love seeing the 2018 commitment rankings for The Ducks at #7, but these rankings are very misleading. If you think USC will end up with the 29th ranked class or Alabama will end up at #57, get real excited. But what these two (and many other) rankings mean is that nearly all the 5-Star prospects have yet to commit. I'm pleased with the great results of Coach Taggart and his staff's hard work, but the REAL results won't show up until the big guys start putting on hats for ESPN.

Here is today's edition.

An interesting (depending on what you consider interesting) side note; the WR coach at Chandler (AZ) High School, Chad Carpenter, played high school ball with one of my college team mates. That had to be one heck of a receiving corps last season with Johnny Johnson and Romney.
